Change for Chickens

At Immaculate Conception, our students and families are very fortunate. We may have day-to-day worries and concerns, but we do not have to work daily just for survival. Children in other parts of the world are not so lucky.

During Catholic Schools Week, as students celebrate the core principals upon which their education is based – Faith, Academics, and Service, we will continue to support our friends across the globe.

Farmer McMac (a.k.a. I.M. Mac the Wildcat) has the barnyard all set up. He is hoping our students will be motivated to make a difference!

            -His goal is $500.

            -The purpose, “Change for Chickens.”

Farmer McMac will be collecting change to purchase chickens through the WorldVision Organization for families across the globe. Chickens give children and families a lasting source of nutrition and income. Fresh eggs raise the levels of protein and other nutrients in a family’s diet, and the sale of extra eggs and chickens can pay for vital basics.

Monday – pennies                                                      Wednesday – dimes

Tuesday – nickels                                                       Thursday – quarters

                                                            Friday - $$$

  “Twin”kie day

Everybody has a twin, right? You may not have a birth mate but here is your chance to dress the part.

  Skittles Day

What’s better than a bag of skittles? How about dressing like one. That’s right, on Tuesday, January 31st, get crazy bright with your wardrobe on this color chromatic day of fun. The sky’s the limit with this one, as we taste the rainbow!

  Minute to Win It

IC will be hosting “Minute to Win It” on Tuesday, January 31st. Teams will compete in the ever-popular Minute to Win It skill games.  GO WILDCATS!

Western Day

Howdy, Partner! On Thursday, February 2nd, IC students and staff will be sporting their best cowboy and cowgirl fashions and rustling up some good old fun. Dust off your boots and hats and cowboy up! (no toy guns allowed!)

  IC Birthday Party

On Friday, February 3, students and staff will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week with the annual birthday party festivities. As with any birthday party, treats, balloons, and gifts will be included. If your family would like to share in the celebration with a voluntary gift donation, please see the attached birthday party wish list for each staff member.

 Weekend Liturgy

At mass on January 28th and 29th, students will be active participants including reading and bringing forward the gifts. If your child would like to participate, please complete the form below and return to school by Thursday, January 26th. We strongly encourage students to participate in mass. This is an excellent opportunity to show appreciation to parish members for their generous financial support of the school.
